Great Tips for Repairing Patio Heaters
Going outside your house to rest and perhaps have a time alone need not be a cold experience. You can still feel warm and comfortable by having the Patio Heaters. You can have the Gas Patio Heaters, Propane Patio Heaters and many more.
The Gas Patio Heaters do not need any lighter fluid or kindling or paper to start up the fire. You also need not wait for it to produce one by getting or storing some woods. The pilot light will work its way through to give you that warmth that you needed. Storing woods would take so much time and it will make your house dirty.
Either you choose this or the other types of heaters, you still have to keep these repair tips in mind:
One of the problems that you will encounter in Patio Heaters is the misdiagnosing of pilot with a blockage and then drilling it down to fix the problem. This should not be the case. Drilling a hole will allow the pilot light to act like a flame thrower and would result to a write-off.
Check if there is still fuel on the gas cylinder and if it is on. This is pretty much easier to do because you can determine it easily but the amount of the gas needed needs to be calculated and estimated properly. What you should do is to take an LPG hose and insert it to the gas tank and turn the gas from 2 to 3 seconds. When doing this avoid getting too close to flammable materials and this means that you should not smoke while doing this. You know when you are done because you start feeling, smelling and hearing the gas inside the cylinder.
Check the ignitor. Push the piezo red button and place your thumb on the other end. When you feel the sharp sting and hear it click then it works. In the contrary, if you do not feel all these then it is time to replace it. Replace it by pulling the ignitor lead off its rear and unscrew to remove then have it replaced with a new one.
The thermocouple is the first consumable part to wear although these can last for six (6) years but if you do not take good care of it and abused its use then you might as well spend time with it for only one (1) year. The problems you have encountered will be fixed by 90% when you seek help and repair.
The second consumable part is the electromagnetic valve. You can detect lighting problems here by unscrewing it and using plumbers tape to reseal joints and before lighting the burner check with a leakage test. Spray the soapy solution to the joints. Then after that you should turn the LPG gas on without lighting the burner. The safety control valve on the burner should be turned on. Leaks and tilt switch should be checked as well.
